How to set up your Power Point slide
There are two ways to specify the size of your slide:
- File > Page Setup
- Design > Slide Size
|Portrait/Vertical Posters||Landscape/Horizontal Posters|
|Width: 36 inches
Height: up to 60 inches
|Width: up to 60 inches
Height: 36 inches
Graphics should be of the highest possible resolution to ensure they don't become pixelated. PNG images are recommended instead of JPG images when possible. To check image resolution, zoom to 100% and make sure the images are acceptable.
After the slide is perfect, convert it to a PDF. If you find a mistake after printing and want to reprint the poster, you will be charged full price for the reprint, so make sure your slide is free of all typos and all figures are accurate.
Requesting a poster to be printed
There must be an Interdepartmental Service Request (ISR) submitted in HokieMart. Instructions for submitting an ISR can be found here. If you do not have HokieMart access, you will need your faculty advisor to submit an ISR to pay for your poster.
The ISR with attached poster must be submitted at least 48 hours before the requested pick up time. No exceptions.
