(April 25, 2018) Prof. Amanda Morris has received the university's 2018 Presidential Principles of Community Award, sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Inclusion and Diversity. The honor is awarded to faculty and staff members who exemplify and promote a welcoming and inclusive environment in accordance with the university's Principles of Community. In addition to supporting the success of female students, Amanda works with Career Services to find meaningful employment for LGBT students in welcoming communities, and also serves as the co-chair of the LGBT Caucus of Faculty and Staff at Virginia Tech.
