(May 13, 2019) Former VT Chemistry faculty member Mark Anderson has been appointed provost of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. During his 18 year tenure with at Virginia Tech, he received several awards including the departmental Faculty Teaching Award in 2003 and the College of Science’s Certificate of Teaching Excellence in 2004, and served as Graduate Program Director from 2004–2007, spearheading the transition to a computer-based graduate application. He later went on to serve as Chair of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Denver and then as Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Kennesaw State University.
