(March 13, 2019) Professor Webster Santos, in collaboration with Kevin Lynch, a professor of pharmacology at the University of Virginia, has received a $2.8 million grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The grant will support research to discovery drugs that, by suppressing a small molecule transporter and thereby modulating the immune system, can potentially be used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases (such as multiple sclerosis) and in immuno-oncology.
