(April 24, 2019) Two faculty members from the Department of Chemistry received awards at the Virginia Tech 2019 Excellence and Inclusion Awards ceremony, sponsored by the Virginia Tech Services for Students with Disabilities office. 

Prof. Joseph Merola received a Teaching/Research Faculty Excellence in Access and Inclusion Award. This award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in adapting to the needs of their students and creating an inclusive learning environment. 

Prof. Candace Wall received the 2019 Sally Bohland Excellence in Access and Inclusion Award. The award was established in 2011 and is awarded annually to recognize a faculty member who serves as a model for others and whose leadership fosters a culture of access and inclusion.

Kezia Johnson (not pictured), General Chemistry receptionist, also received an award for Student Support Faculty and Staff Excellence in Access and Inclusion.
