The Virginia Tech Department of Chemistry consists of approximately 300 undergraduate majors, 150 graduate students, 30 post-doctoral associates and research scientists, 33 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 8 instructors, and 40 staff members. The size and quality of our department allows us to provide students with opportunities not found at smaller institutions. Despite the large numbers, each student is important and receives the individual attention he or she needs, from both professors and advisors.
